Jackson takes main event in a decision at UFC 130

In the main event at UFC 130, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson won a unanimous decision over Matt Hamill with a fight that showed off his defensive prowess and drew boos from the crowd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After the fight, Jackson said he was fighting with an injured hand.

Jackson stuffed a takedown attempt early in the first round, setting the tone for the rest of the bout. Hamill used snapping leg kicks throughout the first round, as Jackson punished with strikes every time Hamill came in close. In the last 30 seconds of the round, Jackson teed off, pushing Hamill against the cage and landing a bevy of strikes. There wasn't enough time for Jackson to finish, but Hamill was definitely damaged from the late onslaught.

Hamill came out with an immediate head kick in the second, but Jackson easily answered with strikes. Jackson continued to methodically hold off every one of Hamill's attacks, landing knees and short jabs along the way. Hamill seemed frustrated with his lack of ability to take Jackson down or generate any offense. Again, in the last minute of the round, Jackson tagged Hamill with an uppercut and body shots, but again, it was too late.

The third round featured more counterfighting from Jackson, and more frustration from Hamill. Both fighters appeared to be tired as the round wore on, and neither were capable of throwing any big moves.

After the 30-27 on all three judges cards was announced, Jackson said that his hand was injured.

"I came into this fight with a fractured hand, and I apologize. I wasn't able to put on the fight I wanted to," Jackson said. A big smile appeared on his face as UFC commentator Joe Rogan pointed out that Jackson hadn't given up a takedown.

"I didn't get taken down? Good. Matt Hamill is tough."

With a win, Jackson was expected to get a title shot. His counterfighting style was enough to win the fight, but it was hardly an endorsement of what a great fighter Jackson is. Instead of the knockouts that Jackson is capable of delivering, this fight resembled Jackson's win over Keith Jardine, where Jackson won the bout with big flurries at the end.

Hamill was also expected to be in the running for the title shot with a win, but showed that he still isn't at the elite level of the stacked light-heavyweight division. He falls to 10-3, while Jackson's record improves to 32-8.

Stout interview: Lightweight sides with Maynard, says Gray will beat Pettis

Sam Stout is in Las Vegas prepping for his UFC 131 bout against Yves Edwards. One of the more dynamic strikers in the lightweight division, he needs to put together a winning streak to breakthrough into the UFC's top 10.

Stout looks at the division as the deepest in the world and tends to side with Gray Maynard, who said a few weeks ago that the UFC 155ers have faced better competition than those in the WEC.

With the help of RawVegas.tv, we spoke with Stout about who he thinks will come out the victor by the middle of 2012 and the brewing rivalry between lightweights from the WEC and UFC.

‘Rampage’ continues to assault reporters, find it funny

After Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's win over Matt Hamill at UFC 130, he gave an interview to MMA Heat reporter Karyn Bryant. When answering her questions, he commented on her looks, said she was making him "horny," then put his head into her chest to mimic "motorboating."

Bryant laughed off the incident. If it were me, I don't know if I could do the same. Most of the times that I've met and interviewed Jackson, he's been fine. He hasn't been a joy to interview, but he hasn't been rude and certainly hasn't assaulted me.

What's different? My interviews are rarely on video. I prefer to write my stories, so Jackson doesn't have quite the stage as he does on when interviewed with a video camera. Jackson's worst actions -- assaulting Bryant, grabbing a Cage Potato reporter, threatening MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani and hitting Cagewriter's own Steve Cofield in the crotch -- happen when he's on camera.

His act is tired and old, yet we continue to interview the man and give him the publicity he needs to further his career, and that's where MMA media is making the mistake. He thinks it's funny to assault the people who cover his fights, who write about his movie, who give him a stage to show off the "Rampage" persona.

Let's stop doing that. Take away his stage. Don't ask him questions in press conferences, don't cover his every move, don't give him another chance to assault reporters. He may think his act is funny and cute, but there is one way to ensure that no one else finds it funny or cute. Don't cover it.

Browne scores highlight-reel KO at UFC 130

Travis Browne easily won the battle of super tall heavyweights, knocking out Stefan Struve at 4:11 in the first round at UFC 130 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Both fighters wanted to show off their kicks early in the round, as they exchanged, sometimes simultaneously, leg kick after leg kick. Struve was in control for much of the round, even slapping on a few submission attempts on Browne. But after Brown popped out of a choke and the fight returned to their feet, he took advantage of the standing position. In the final minute of the round, Browne threw a perfect Superman punch. Struve's head snapped back, and his body caught air before he hit the ground.

"That's what we train every day. That's pretty!" Brown said, while watching the knockout replay.

The knockout keeps Browne's undefeated record intact, as he now is 11-0-1, while Struve falls to 21-5.

‘Bigfoot’ says Barnett is rude and a butt kisser

Josh Barnett is outspoken and brash. It rubs a lot of people the wrong way. That included Dana White. Say what you want about Barnett, but he's not stupid, so when Zuffa purchased Strikeforce, the former UFC heavyweight champ swallowed his pride and finally worked to bury the hatchet with MMA's leading man.

That and just about everything else about Barnett seems to bother fellow heavyweight Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva.

"[...] when [Barnett] sees Fedor, [UFC President] Dana White or [UFC Chairman and CEO Lorenzo] Fertitta, he runs to them and stays by their side all the time. He makes me sick. He's the classic kiss-ass, a rude man …" [Silva told Sherdog]. "I really want to face Barnett and I've already said I consider him a filthy person, even though he is a great fighter, and that I'll beat him up and close both of his eyes."

Silva suggested Barnett is rude and snooty when it comes to Brazilian fighters.

"I've been fighting since 2004 and have never had any issues with another athlete, even the most stuck-up," explained Silva. "Friendship, for me, is everything, but Josh is a weird guy, a guy who doesn't greet you when you enter the elevator, doesn't even say 'good morning.' It's how he treats Brazilian fighters especially. It's the same thing with [Barnett and] Werdum."

Barnett faces Brett Rogers on June 18 in Dallas. With a win over Fedor Emelianenko, Silva advances to the semifinals of the Strikeforce heavyweight Grand Prix. Silva is awaiting the winner of Alistair Overeem and Werdum on that same card.

Fitch says his fight against GSP could be most exciting option at 170

There's still no word on what's next for Georges St-Pierre. After he limped across the finish against Jake Shields, many folks have changed their minds about the UFC welterweight champ being invincible at 170 pounds.

Does that mean fans are more open to GSP-Jon Fitch II? Fitch sold the fight on this week's Inside MMA on HDNet (9 p.m. ET).

"You look at all the fights GSP's had, which fight has been the most exciting? Whether or not, you think I could beat him, which fight has been the most exciting fight?" Fitch asked Kenny Rice and company (0:179 mark). "And that's the fight I had with him. You're guaranteed to have an exciting fight with him. He can't hold me down, I can take his punch and I'm always gonna keep moving forward."

Fitch lost that one-sided fight at UFC 87 by a unanimous decision (50-43, 50-44, 50-44). Has he gotten better since then? Fitch's won five straight along with a draw versus B.J. Penn, but he hasn't exactly steamrolled people. Meanwhile, St-Pierre's become a very cerebral fighter and appears to gameplan for decision victories.

If GSP-Fitch II goes five rounds again it may spark another Wiki graffiti incident.

Is Fitch-GSP II the best option? If not, what is?

It looks like a good episode of Inside MMA with Rashad Evans, Mark Munoz, Daniel Cormier and Fitch. Evans appears to be the co-host. Hopefully, he can live up to standard set by Tito Ortiz a few weeks back. Tito struggled a little bit.

Fighter Mike Brown ready to take over the Lakers

Mike Brown is getting ready for his August bout with Nam Phan, but apparently, he has another job on his plate. "Mike Brown" is expected to be hired as the new coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, so the other Mike Brown, a UFC featherweight, had fun with it on his Twitter account.

It looks like Brown has some ideas on changing the Lakers' lineup. He plans on switching out 7-footer Andrew Bynum from center with the 5-foot-10 Yves Edwards. Brown also advised "his players" to expect some changes in training. "Practice starts tomorrow at 9am sharp. Bring your mouthguard and headgear. There's gonna be some changes!"

At UFC 133, Brown wants to stop a two-loss skid, but he shouldn't try to take inspiration from his "new team." The uninspired Lakers were swept out of the second round of the playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks.

Strikeforce is finally going to Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a UFC town so it's always been taboo for rival promotions to hold events in the desert, but with the recent Zuffa purchase of Strikeforce, all barriers to have that promotion land in Sin City are gone.

ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto reports that a future Strikeforce Challengers show will be held in Las Vegas in July.

Sources have confirmed to ESPN.com the promotion intends to bring its Strikeforce Challengers series to Las Vegas on July 22. The card will most likely take place at The Pearl at The Palms casino, which has hosted UFC events in the past.

No fight matchups have been announced for the summer show, although sources say the date is expected to be the first of multiple Strikeforce Challengers cards held in Las Vegas.

Strikeforce Challengers 16 is slated for Kent, Wa. on June 24. Strikeforce has never held a show in Nevada. The last major promotion to invade Las Vegas was PRIDE with PRIDE 33 at the Thomas & Mack Arena in February of 2007. Just over a month later, UFC purchased PRIDE, the roster and library from its Japanese owners.

If his kids stay out of trouble, ‘Rampage’ may retire at 35

Quinton Jackson doesn't want to be like Roy Jones Jr. and countless other boxers who fight because they have to financially. The former UFC light heavyweight champ always targeted 35 years old as the time to walk away. Jackson, 32, still believes that, but there are some uncontrollable factors that could change the plan.

"I have kids to look out for. I want to put some of my kids through college. I know some of my kids ... I'm gonna need lawyers fees for them," joked Jackson. "Y'all laughing but I know this!"

Jackson was in a good mood as he spoke during Wednesday's final press conference for UFC 130. In spite of the talk that he's not motivated for this fight, he seems to have a new outlook on his fighting career. Jackson has benefited greatly from being able to earn a healthy living.

"My parents were real poor and I want my mom to drive a nice car and have a nice house, and I want my dad to have the same. That's the thing that drives me to keep fighting so I can afford to keep doing those things," said Jackson.

Rampage is starting to realize he can lengthen his career by cleaning things up outside the cage. That could mean he fights past 35.

"When I used to fight in PRIDE, I was a single parent and I used to eat fast food all the time. I used have to cut 15 pounds every time before a fight. I really got sick of that over the years," Jackson said. "I'm sick and tired of that lifestyle, being real heavy."

Jackson knows it cost him a title shot earlier this year.

"I really regret getting real heavy after my November fight because I couldn't fight [Mauricio] "Shogun" [Rua] after Rashad [Evans] got injured. It was like a kick in the ass," said Jackson.

During Wednesday's presser, Jackson looked visibly thinner than before previous fights.

"I was really excited about getting in shape for this fight. When you look at yourself in the mirror and you're disgusted with yourself, and you're a professional athlete, that's bad," said Jackson.

Jackson faces Matt Hamill in the main event of UFC 130 on Saturday.

Have You Always Wanted to be a Gardener? Follow These Tips!

The internet has plenty of information and articles available for those who want to learn more about growing things. There are even articles for gardeners who have years of experience under their belts. Even gardeners who have won medals like to keep current on gardening trends. Since you are a new gardener you probably have a lot of ideas about how growing a garden of your very own is supposed to work.

Many new gardeners are befuddled by all of the contradictory information and ideas that are out there. Learning how to tell the difference between good information and bad information can take a while. Here are some universally accepted gardening tips for beginners.

You should apply much to your garden because it keeps pests away while adding much needed nutrients to the soil. Weeds don\'t grow very well in mulch. Mulch is a great way to keep your garden healthy and cut down on your maintenance workload. Mulch is good for a lot of reasons.

Mulch helps regulate your soil\'s temperature and keeps the soil moist for a long time. One of the biggest reasons that mulch is popular is that it is very cheap and far less expensive than \"regular\" fertilizers. Mulch works really well and doesn\'t cost much at all.

If you want to grow fruit, bell peppers are a good fruit with which to start. These are plants that love the sun and you can grow them in containers or in yard gardens. They do not require a lot of watering. Dry soil suits bell peppers just fine because they are indigenous to dry and arid parts of the planet. People who like to grown their own veggies and fruits love the bell peppers because there are so many different kinds to choose from. These are fruits that ripen quickly-usually between two and three months after they are planted-which is another reason they are so popular amongst beginning gardeners. These plants are incredibly low maintenance: make sure they get enough bright light, put some nutrients into their soil patches and water them once in a while and they will grow like gangbusters!

You might not believe this but you do not have to buy seeds in order to grow a garden. If you want to grow fruits and vegetables this is especially true. If you want to grow fruit or vegetables, all you need is one of those fruits or vegetables. You can take the seeds from that food and plant them and create your own plants and fill your garden! This is one of the best ways to grow a garden that is full of your favorite foods without having to spend a bunch of money on packets of seeds. Growing your own garden does not have to be complex. In fact, the more diligent you are about the care and keeping of your chosen plants, the more likely it is that you will grow a thriving garden! You just need to be patient. It takes time to grow a garden that will flourish. Anybody can become a great gardener. You don\'t need to have a grass colored thumb or any special skills. You just need to figure out whose advice you want to follow and you will be on your way to becoming a great gardener!

Every Gardener Should Have the Right Gardening Tools

Almost everybody thinks \"it would be very nice to have a garden of my own\" at some point in their lives. One man might think to himself \"I\'d like to grow my own vegetables!\" Someone else might daydream of planting a beautiful rose garden. Whatever you want to grow, how you want to grow it or how extensive you plan your garden to be, you will need to find specific tools to help you achieve your goal. A lot of gardening can be done using just your own personal strength and your hands. In order to save time and save your body (gardening can be hard on it), you should use gardening tools. Here are a few gardening tools that will help you complete your project.

A garden spade can be incredibly useful, especially if you are growing small and delicate plants. Irritating weeds are easy to dig up with a spade. Spades are also good for helping you clear things away from your plants without damaging their bases. You can use your spade to help with seed planting. You probably won\'t use your spade every single day, but you will be glad you have it on hand when you have delicate earth work to get done. A spade can save you a lot of time and work with a variety of different types of gardening projects. Every garden needs a garden hose. Even if you don\'t have a lot of plants you should have a garden hose handy. You can use your hose for other things-it is not just for watering your plants. You can use it to spray debris out of your garden while not damaging your plants. Outside of garden use, a hose can be used to wash your car or water your lawn!

You also need a hovel. You can buy both short handled hovels and long handled hovels. A hovel is, basically, a shovel whose point is rounded. Most gardeners opt for the hovel with the short handle because it aids in their balance while hovels with long handles do not.

You will use your hovel almost totally for digging holes. The hovel will move your soil and you can use it to lift plants without having to worry about accidentally damaging the plant\'s root bulb or pulling on its rooting system. They are sometimes used for patting down the earth during the plant relocation process. Many people find gardening to be a good hobby (some even make a living doing it). The more you learn about gardening the more you will want to purchase the tools being sold at your local plant store or gardening department. Don\'t rush out and buy everything right away-start with a few simple tools that every gardener needs. As you get more experience with gardening you will figure out which gardening tools you need and which are only luxuries.

Finding The Right Web Hosting For Your Project

It does not matter if this is the first website you\'ve ever built or your thousandth: the time has come to choose a web hosting company. You might be new to the hosting set up. Maybe your old hosting provider isn\'t cutting it anymore and you want to choose a new company for your latest project. The reason for the change is not important; what is important is that your choice is an informed one. This is going to be your new baby after all. You should make sure that the company you choose will meet your every need. Here are some of the things to keep in mind when you are choosing your hosting provider.

How do you want to set up your e-mail? E-mail marketing is common place for most of us, but it is good to double check to make sure your hosting provider can accommodate your needs. If your project will involve a lot of contributors, you might think about giving each of those contributors an easily accessible, project-focused e-mail address. If this is the case you\'ll want to make sure that your hosting company\'s e-mail program is set up to meet your extensive requirements. Pay close attention to the e-mail provisions given to you by your chosen hosting provider and make sure that your needs will be met before you give any money to the company. Do you plan on building a single site or a network of sites? If you only want to build a single site you have plenty of cheap options available to you. Being able to host multiple domain names on your server space is important if your project involves building more than one website. You might be shocked to learn that some providers will severely limit the amount of domain names they will allow you to place on your account. When your project is extensive, you need to have more options available to you and your team. The goal is to find hosting that gives you a wide variety of options without charging you an arm and a leg to access them.

Check out the day to day business practices of the company. Larger companies will probably be listed with local business bureaus. Check into their headquarters-make sure that the company is registered with the city and state in which its headquarters are located. Find out if the company is listed within the Better Business Bureau. You want to avoid any company that has a lot of infractions or complaints registered against it. If the company is not registered with its local authorities it should be avoided. Registering a business with a city and state is required-even for one man operations. Do not trust any company offering web hosting that cannot be verified through legal means.

The amount of criteria you can use to help choose your hosting provider is staggering. Customer service is important. You might need a site that never has down time. You could need more space on the server than the average website in your niche. Maybe keeping costs low is your priority. Make sure to remember all of these things when it comes time for you to make your final decision.

It is important that you go slowly and really thoroughly research every company that you are considering using for hosting. It is better to spend more time to be sure than to spend less time and get taken advantage of!

Keep These Things In Mind When Buying Hosting

Whether you are totally new to web development or an old pro at site building, there will always be a time when you need to choose a hosting company. This might be your first time choosing hosting. Maybe your old hosting provider isn\'t cutting it anymore and you want to choose a new company for your latest project. The reason for the change is not important; what is important is that your choice is an informed one. Remember, this is your project that you are working on. The hosting company you choose should be the best company for what you need. Here are some of the things to keep in mind when you are choosing your hosting provider.

Define the parameters of your project before you begin searching for a good web hosting company. Do you know how much traffic you can expect, how much server space you will need, etc? Knowing these numbers will help you narrow down your search parameters by quite a bit. For example, if you think that your site will be very popular right away then you will need to find hosting that will allow you to have a lot of bandwidth for an inexpensive price. Getting affordable server space is another priority, especially for web developers who plan on creating web properties that make use of a lot of images or that have many pages. On the other hand, if you want just a small site you won\'t need all of the bells and whistles that a more extensive and popular site will need. Figuring out what you want to do can save you valuable time during your launching and building processes. Does your project involve a network of websites or do you only need to build a stand alone site? If you only want to build a single site you have plenty of cheap options available to you. If your goal is a larger network of individual websites, you\'ll want to find hosting that can accommodate more than one domain name per account. Choose a hosting company that is not as strict about the number of add on and sub domains that your account will hold. If your project is big and intricate you will need more options than you would if your project was simple. You will want to find a provider who will give you extensive hosting that won\'t cost a lot of money to use.

Ask around and get reviews from the web builders that you trust. Anybody can put up a glowing review and an affiliate link on a forum so if you want a review you can trust, ask other site owners that you admire or have worked with before. Most web builders and developers are more than happy to share their hosting preferences for people who need help making a decision. You might even be offered space on the site owner\'s server to help you start building your web project while you do your research on the hosting options that are available to you. There are many site builders who earn money by selling server space on their accounts for small fees. The easiest way to get a good deal on sublet server space is to buy that space from someone you already know and trust. Making sure that your web hosting company is safe and not trying to scam you takes some time and effort. It is better to be safe now than sorry later. There is no such thing as asking too many questions or being too careful. Remember, this is a service that you will be paying for. You need to be careful about who you share your private information (and bank account numbers) with. It would be terrible for you to trust someone who turned out to be scam artists. Scam artists are hiding all over the place-even in plain sight! There is no such thing as being too careful.

Personalized Jewelry is an Awesome Gift

Don\'t let anyone tell you there is a bad occassion to give jewelry in it\'s personalized form as a gift. Every occassion when jewelry is given embellished with a persons name will be greatfully accepted. A gift of jewelry might be declined if the person had ill feelings toward the gifter. My favorite gift for any occassion is one of a personal nature. Today you can get almost anything personalized. Having jewelry personalized is inexpensive. Below are just some examples of when it is appropriate to gift personalized jewelry.

Obviously a person\'s birthday is a good choice. Even casual acquaintances can be given personalized items now that personalization has become so affordable. There are so many different options available for personalized birthday gifts and jewelry. Name necklaces are the most common gift. Buying this gift for a man, however, might not always go over very well. Perhaps a tie pin or some cufflinks that have his name on them would be a good idea.

Personalized jewelry is a wonderful way to show a person how much you are thinking of them. A pair of earrings containing the initial of her first name can go a long way in showing a new girlfriend you are thinking of her. A necklace with their name on the pendant is a really sweet gift for a friend you\'ve lost touch with.

As kids, we all had those kinds of necklaces-presenting one to a friend you\'ve been out of touch with can be a wonderful way to reconnect! For him, why not decide to go for a watch with his name engraved on it. The gift can be as effortless or as extravagant as you want it to be.

You could also give someone personalized jewelry as a graduation gift. Someone who has graduated from high school is a great personalized gift recipient. After all, no one can question who those earrings belong to when the owner\'s name is engraved in them! You could also give a pendant with the person\'s picture in it. Obviously, graduation gifts do not have to be limited to jewelry. Towels and clothing are also two great things to personalize. A personalized frame that contains a picture of you and the graduate is also a great gift. Personalized jewelry can be a primo present for almost any celebration. Whether you are yearning to rejoice for a certain occurrence or give someone a present \"just because\", a personalized piece of jewelry will always be happily received!

Where to Purchase Handmade Jewelry?

Are you a fan of jewelry? Are you particular about what kind of pieces you buy? Do your friends like to ask you to make handmade jewelry for them? Many people have discovered that hand crafted jewelry is the best way to get accessories that are unique. Some people get so attached to the idea of having unique jewelry that they learn how to make it themselves. Obviously, being the only designer for your jewelry doesn\'t stay exciting. You can use these methods to get your own handmade jewelry.

The easiest way to get your own handmade jewelry is to learn how to make it. You can do this by asking someone to teach you. Going to a jewelry making class at the local community center or at a local jewelry shop is a fantastic way to learn the basics of making jewelry. Sometimes local jewelry designers will work with people on an individual basis. It\'s easier to learn how to make your own jewelry when you have your teacher\'s undivided attention.

Etsy.com is a great site for handcrafted jewelry. This website has thousands of different vendors who specialize in various types of arts and crafts. Everything you view on Etsy.com is either vintage or antique or it has been handcrafted. Those are the guidelines for being a vendor on Etsy. An favorable thing about Etsy is you can view the wide assortment of jewelry for hours and hours without the added stress of a salesman actively trying to sell to you. You can riff though on your own sweet time and shop when it is most convenient for you.

Offer up your time as a trade for the pieces you love--this is the best way to get handmade jewelry without spending a cent. Does the artist have a website? Offer to build one! You might offer to sell a jewelry designer\'s pieces in your shop in exchange for them making you a piece or two of your own. This is a dicey situation so make sure that the jewelry designer knows what your intentions and hopes are if you are hoping to get the artist to let you have or make you some pieces of your own. If the artist does not need your services, she may allow you to make payments instead. Sometimes the artist will decide to just be very nice and let you have the piece without having to buy it.

Handmade jewelry can make any outfit more dazzling. Anyone can spend money on a necklace at a department store. Handcrafted jewelry shows others how much you care about your accessories and fashion and your ability to find primo pieces. It shows that you want your outfit to be different and that you don\'t want to just wear the same jewelry as everyone else. Handcrafted jewelry is generally less expensive and simpler to find than an uncommon piece that is commissioned through jeweler shops ad the like.
